A semi truck involved in a rush-hour accident blocks the westbound lanes of traffic on Interstate 84 during the rush hour commute Monday in Nampa. No one was hurt in the crash, police said.

I-84 wrecks stall rush hour traffic

In the first reported accident, police said Joshua Yellon, 21 of Kuna, was traveling east on I-84 in a white 2000 Ford F-250 Pickup near exit 37 and the 11th Avenue North Overpass in Nampa. Authorities said it was then that Yellon’s flatbed trailer came off of his vehicle and traveled through the median and struck the semi trailer of Tomasz Rutkowski, 29, of Greenwood Village, Colorado. Rutkowski was traveling west. Police said both men were wearing seat belts and escaped injury
The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office and Nampa Police Department assisted Idaho State Police on the crash, which shut down all westbound lanes and one lane of eastbound traffic.
Shortly after, a second crash — this time in the eastbound lanes of I-84 under the Cole/Overland overpass at milepost 50 in Boise — closed three lanes of the interstate as police investigated the wreck. One unidentified victim was transported to Saint Alphonsus Medical Center with injuries. Additional details were unavailable late Monday.
