Teen in serious condition after trailer accident
PRICES CORNER, Del. (AP) Delaware State Police say a Wilmington teen is in serious condition after a trailer came loose and hit the teen's car.
According to police, 24-year-old Andrew Downing of Wilmington was hauling a cargo trailer on Route 2 when the trailer came loose about 11 a.m. Thursday.
Police say the trailer hit 17-year-old Daniel Billinger's Hyundai Elantra in the westbound lanes of Route 2 near the Route 141 overpass.
Emergency crews had to free Billinger from the car and took him to Christiana Hospital in serious condition.
Police say Downing has been cited with operating an unsafe motor vehicle.
