School bus, truck accident sends student to hospital

Note: Look at the Trailer.......... It is a homemade one... that someone took off of a pick up
and welded a hitch that has not been set to a national standard. The trailer is overloaded and
what is the towing capacity of the pick up......did the pick up have the stopping power to prevent
this accident.

An accident involving a school bus and a landscaping truck this morning sent one Dysart Unified School District student to the hospital for treatment, police said.

Surpise police spokesman Sgt. Mark Ortega said none of the children sustained life-threatening injuries.

The bus, carrying eight students who attend the Riverview school in El Mirage, was rear-ended by a truck pulling a landscape-business trailer in the intersection of Grand Avenue and Greenway Road in Surprise, police said.

One student was taken to Banner Del Webb Medical Center in Sun City West for treatment as a precaution. The driver and passenger in the truck also were taken to the hospital.

Preliminary reports indicate the truck driver was at fault for the accident, police said.
