AMERICAN LEGION BRIDGE -- Traffic is starting to get back to normal across the American Legion Bridge after a boat came off a trailer on the Outer Loop of the bridge.
A wrecker dragged the boat on to a flat bed before 7 a.m.
The mishap happened about mid-way across the bridge before 6 a.m., backing up traffic on Interstates 495 and 270.
When the first Maryland Department of Transportation worker got on the scene, WTOP Traffic Reporter Lisa Baden knew he wouldn't be able to handle the job alone.
"I'd think a 15-foot boat would be a little bit heavy for him," she says.
The owner of the boat declined to be interviewed by WTOP's Kristi Kin
