RIVERDALE — A SUV and the camper trailer it was pulling overturned on Route 287 North around 12:15 p.m. Saturday, entrapping the driver, state police said.
The accident occurred when the driver, who was alone in his vehicle, hit a bump, causing the trailer to come loose.The driver was extricated by firefighters and was airlifted to Morristown Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for a broken arm and released, officials said. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, no one else was injured and no summonses were issued.
Traffic was backed up some four miles along Route 287 and delayed one hour, as just one lane was open. The name of the driver was not made public at press time.
