Police Search For Run-Away From Deadly Accident
NOTE: We know the Boat and Pick Up was stolen...
But we need to ask the question..........Why did the Trailer come unhitched?
Would the trailer become unhitched if the original owner was driving it at a later time.
It takes a number of things to go wrong to cause an accident.... and in the case at hand...the trailer came loose... WHY?
HIALEAH (CBS4)Two people died early Friday morning after a car and a boat collided.
- Now police are searching for another man who fled the scene, and a fourth person is hospitalized in critical condition.
Police confirmed that both the boat and the truck it was hitched to had been stolen from two different owners. The owner of the truck called police after seeing it on the news; they confirmed it was his.
Investigators say it appears 16-year-old Noel Luaces Fernandez of Miami was driving a Ford F250 and the stolen boat, but at some point it became loose. Fernandez and a driver in a red car pulled over to check it out.
That's when tragedy struck – a 2009 silver Chevy Malibu hit the boat and the trailer. The impact dragged Fernandez and the second man more than 30 yards. Fernandez was killed on impact, while the other man was partially pinned.
Witnesses say the partially pinned man was able to get out.
"I was on the phone with 911 running over to the Malibu to see if the occupants inside were OK and [by the] time I came back, the gentleman under the boat had squirmed out and jumped into the little red car and took off," said witness David Garland.
The driver in the Chevy Malibu, 22-year-old Jorge L. Arroyo, was killed in the crash. His passenger was critically injured and was identified as Delia Reyes, 29. Firefighters had to cut the roof to get Reyes out of the car.
"She was severely injured and had major head injuries," said Lt. Caesar Espinosa, of Hialeah Fire Rescue. The busy Palmetto Expressway was temporarily closed to southbound traffic at Hialeah to clean up the crash and investigate the scene.
Troopers say they found marijuana and three bags of a white powdery substance near the Malibu, which was later positively identified as cocaine.
No charges have been filed yet; police continue to seek the fourth person involved in the crash.

ReplyDeleteTractor Trailers are the backbone of our ground shipping economy. No matter what time of day or night you happen to be on the highway, you can bet that you'll have to share the road with big rig drivers. As valuable a component of our infrastructure as they are, tractor trailers are also responsible for some of the most damaging and deadly crashes on the road. With a vehicle of that weight and momentum, even a small slip up can mean big consequences for every driver on the road. Visit no win no fee solicitors to get more information about this.
ReplyDeleteOuch! Having an unhitched trailer can really cause a lot of trouble. The boat can wreck other vehicles next to it if it becomes unhooked. Nevertheless, this is story is quite intriguing, particularly due to the fact that the boat was stolen and it contains dangerous drugs. Three years passed already, and I hope the questions of this report are already answered and the case is already solved.
